Klayar Tourism Village is located in Kedungpoh Village, Nglipar, Gunung Kidul, Yogyakarta. Klayar is a tourism village established and managed by Tourism Awareness Group or Pokdarwis of Kedungpoh Village. This village has natural potential tourism of hilly eucalyptus forests, Kedung Lumbu dam, and Oya River that crosses the village. The villagers realize that their village has potential tourism attraction so they have to work on it together to make a captivating village that can attract tourist visitation.
Kedung Lembu Dam
One of main tourist destinantions of this village is Kedung Lembu Dam. This destination which is a large artificial lake has been developed since 2017. Here visitors can enjoy several water rides such as becak air, boat or canoe, motor boat, and also unique photo spots. This river tracing tour by using a kind of water ride has actually the same concept with river tracing tour on the Maron River Pacitan. If the Maron River offers river tracing towards the estuary, in the Kedung Lembu Dam the visitors will be only invited to go along the upstream river. The location of this tourist attraction is quite strategic because it is located between Pindul Cave and Embung Batara Striten location. All tourist destinations in the village are managed by the local community and protected by Bumdes.
Flower Garden and Selfie Spot
Klayar Tourism Village also offers flower garden tourism. This flower garden was built along the Oya River. In the middle of the park area there is a beautiful stone park or artificial stone garden surrounded by gazebos to take a rest and to do gathering. If we walk to the end of the park, we will find a building namely Joglo, outbound areas, and camping ground. You shouldn’t miss to take a photo in this park, because there are some interesting photo spots that will make your Instagram looking pretty darn good.
Camping Ground
Klayar Tourism Village has also very spacious camping ground and outbound area of approximately 1 hectare. This camping ground area is located in Oya tributary area so the campers will discover the incredible nature panorama. Moreover, the sufficient water availability will make this location becoming a recommended natural concept camping area.
Entrance Ticket and Facilities
Facilities in the Klayar Tourism Village are quite complete. There are public bathroom, spacious parking area, food court area, and gazebo that can be used as a place to rest. The entrance ticket of Klayar Tourism Village area is affordable, it costs only Rp. 3000. In addition a parking fee costs Rp. 2000 for a bike and Rp. 5000 for a car.
