The tourist destination which is well known for its long stretch greenish hilly area and Sermo reservoir is is situated in the area of Menoreh hill where the area are still so natural and refreshing.
Particullary, Kalibiru was a forest conservation area where there were many illegal logging, so it made the barren forest area. Regarding this deforestation, the local people around this forest area initiate to revive it. In 2008, the forest in Kalibiru was officially managed by the local under the lisence of social forestry (Izin Pemanfaatan Hutan Kemasyarakatan).
Kalibiru tourism village is located on the hilly area of 450 meters above sea level so when the skies are clear, the visitors can see the view of Merapi Mount, Sermo reservoir, and South Sea row. The clear and the fresh air are such a valuable thing for the visitors who want to release his tiredness from their daily business.

Other than those activites offered, the facility and accommodation provided in this area are also satisfying. Those facilities are such as mushola, toilet, scenic view point, pendopo/joglo, homestay, foodcourt area, and also library.
This Kalibiru tourism village is daily opened starting from 06.30 to 17.00. A visitor will pay retribution of Rp.10.000,-. In addition, if the visitors want to enjoy the photo spot they have to pay about Rp.10.000 – Rp. 35.000. The cost is depends on the spot chosen.
