Who doesn’t know Ashanty — a singer and public figure known for her culinary passion?

During her visit to Yogyakarta, Anang Hermansyah’s wife invited her family and team to explore a series of typical culinary delights and trendy eateries in the City of Gudeg.

Through a vlog uploaded on the The Hermansyah A6 YouTube channel, Ashanty shows the excitement of culinary tourism in Jogja — from traditional dishes that make you nostalgic, to contemporary cafes that are really cozy for hanging out.

So, if you’re planning a vacation to Jogja, here are 5 culinary spots chosen by Ashanty that must be on your visit list!

  1. Ayam Bakar Arto Moro — The Spicyness is Addictive

📍   Jl. Palagan Tentara Pelajar Km. 7,8 No. 30A, Sariharjo, Ngaglik, Sleman

Ayam Bakar Arto Moro is Ashanty’s first stop in Jogja. This legendary restaurant in the Palagan area is famous for its spicy, sweet, and salty spices that blend perfectly.

Ashanty even said, “It’s so spicy it feels like you’ve been slapped, but it’s so delicious!”

The chicken is grilled over charcoal to create a tempting smoky aroma, served with chili paste, fried tofu and tempeh, and fresh vegetables on a banana leaf — a very Javanese atmosphere!

Come a bit early, because at night the queue can be long. For spicy food lovers, this place is practically heaven, addictive taste.

  1. Coffee 1009 — Relaxing Hangout, Great Coffee!

📍 Jl. Palagan Tentara Pelajar, Sleman

After the spicy food, Ashanty continued her relaxing coffee at Coffee 1009, a modern cafe with a wooden feel and minimalist interior.

She ordered a ceremonial matcha and milk coffee, then praised the taste that “is not inferior to the trendy cafes in Jakarta.”

Besides the calm atmosphere, the coffee beans here are selected from various regions of Indonesia and brewed with precision techniques — making the coffee taste smooth but still has character.

This place is perfect for those of you who want to recharge your energy while enjoying the atmosphere of northern Jogja.
