The name of Watu Lawang is derived from Javanese language \u201clawang\u201d which means the door. That name was given because the top of the hill in this area, it looks just like a door.<\/p>\n<p>Watu Lawang tourism object is situated in the west of Mangunan Fruit Park. Watu Lawang is famous for the rice field views of Kedungmiri village and Imogiri drawbridge. So, it\u2019s no wonder that some people in Bantul have known already this spot.<\/p>\n<p>To reach Watu lawang, the visitors have to walk up the stairs and follow the path on the cliff edge. The location of Watu Lawang is marked by a big rock, and after you will find Watu lawang bridge toward the edge of the cliff that becomes the main tourist attraction in this place.<\/p>\n<p>Watu lawang was active volcano where its explosive volcano formed Oya River. Just like ancient volcano Nglanggeran, Watu Lawang was created by ancient volcanic stones. The peak where trees and bushes grow seemed to be split into two sharp edges. We cannot climb up this hill because of its sharp slope. Accesing Mangunan Village still becomes the only way to get to Watu Lawang.<\/p>\n<p>Although we cannot enjoy the sunrise and also the sunset from Watu Lawang, the beautiful views of this spot shouldn\u2019t be missed. The fresh air, the trees around the area, and the rice field and Oya river view can make us feel relaxed.<\/p>\n<p>Getting to the location of Watu Lawang, the visitors just need to follow the direction of Mangunan Fruit Park route.\u00a0 The visitors will find small T-junction before arriving in Mangunan Fruit park. The have to turn on the right and go along the path until they find Watu Lawang\u2019s route direction.\u00a0 They need to pass a rocky land track to get there.
