Spot Riyadi is located in Sumberwatu hamlet, Sambirejo village, Prambanan sub-district, Sleman district, DI Yogyakarta. It is called Spot Riyadi because this place is in front of the courtyard of Pak Riyadi’s house which is in the hills of Sambirejo, Prambanan. Spot Riyadi position facing north or facing Mount Merapi. From this place, visitors can enjoy the view of Mount Merapi, Prambanan Temple, the expanse of verdant rice fields, and surrounding villages.
Spot Riyadi was first known through photographers who shared their photos on social media. Most of the photographers found a morning fog from the top of the hill and a sparkling view of Prambanan Temple at night. Spot Riyadi is also a Punthuk Setumbu (a popular hill in Magelang Regency) of Prambanan Temple.
The location of Spot Riyadi nears Sumberwatu Heritage Resort and Abhayagiri Restaurant areas. From the center of Jogja to Prambanan Temple until the border gate between Yogyakarta and Central Java, there is a small road to the south. Follow the small road to the Sumberwatu Heritage Resort. Arriving at the resort, find the cast road behind the resort. Follow the road until you see a crossroad that has a patrol post then take a left. It takes approximately 200 meters to arrive at Riyadi Spot.
Currently, Spot Riyadi begins to be developed as a small tourist location with parking area and stalls. Day by day, the visitors are steadily increase. Spot Riyadi can be an alternative tour to enjoy the beauty of Prambanan Temple from the top of the hill with cheap cost.
