Do you want to go to the religion tour and adrenaline tour all at once? The answer is Cerme Cave. This cave is located in the border of Srunggu, Selopamioro Village, Bantul Regency with Ploso, Giritirto Village, Panggang Sub-district, Gunungkidul Regency,Yogyakarta. In the past, this was a meeting place for Walisongo to discuss about Islamic da’wah and the establishment of Great Mosque of Demak

Goa Cerme is at an altitude of around 500 meters above sea level. It is not only offers the beauty of stalactites and stalagmites, but also waterfalls and underground rivers that flow along the cave. Goa Cerme itself has a length of 1.5 km with the cave’s mouth in Bantul while the exit is in Gunungkidul.

It is required to report in advance to the guide before entering Goa Cerme. It is because there are confusing branches in the cave. Exploring Goa Cerme also needed some equipment that can be borrowed from rental sites around the location. During exploring the cave, visitors are advised to follow the guide in front of the line because there are some quite deep points.

Searching to this underground cave does not use buoys like in the canal. Therefore, the visitors who come are advised to bring clothes because at some points the water level can reach the waist-chest of an adult. Do not be surprised when you see people doing activities around the cave because they also use water cave to do daily activities, especially washing clothes.

The location of Goa Cerme is in the hilly area in the south of Imogiri. Route from Yogyakarta to the south through Giwangan Terminal and East Imogiri Road. Then follow the road to Siluk / Selopamioro. After crossing the Oyo Siluk River bridge will meet a crossroad, choose the road to the right. A few meters later, there is another deviation to the left / straight with the road conditions going up. Follow the road to the end or the tourist parking area of Goa Cerme.
