A Brief History of Canting Mas Puncak Dipowono
The name of Canting Mas is chosen without any reason. It is believed that there is a hereditary of Nyi Roro Kidul namely Canting Mas and Tampah mas. There is another tale version related to the war between Bandung Bondowoso and Prabu Boko. This story tell that Bandung Bondowoso planned to have a puppet show on the mountain that’s located close to the Menoreh hill, but on the way to get to the location, Bandung Bondowoso and his followers were blocked by Prabu Boko, and the end of the story all of the Bandung Bondowoso partisan were preyed by Prabu Boko. The incident left some belongings that would be used in the wayang performance. One of those belongings is Dupa; therefore this area is also called Canting Mas Puncak Dipowono.
