The wealth and natural beauty that Gunungkidul has until now is still the main tourist attraction of the largest district in DIY Province. Therefore, it is not surprising if Gunungkidul is the main target for nature tourism lovers.

One of natural attractions spread in Gunungkidul is a waterfall. Many waterfalls are still beautiful and have not been developed into tourist sites. For instance, Banyunibo Waterfall which in Javanese means water that falls. It has the same name as Banyunibo Waterfall which is in Pajangan, Bantul, but both of them are not related to each other.

The Banyunibo Waterfall is located in Batur Hamlet, Putat Village, Patuk District, Gunungkidul. It is emerged after the development of Bobung tourist village which made Banyunibo waterfall be one of the tour packages offered by Bobung tourist village. Since then, access to the Banyunibo Waterfall has been repaired and facilities for tourists have been built.

The access to this location is quite easy. From the main road that connecting to Yogyakarta and Wonosari, after go up to the patuk hill, follow the road until you see a signpost for Bobung Tourism Village. After entering the direction of Bobung village, continue the journey until arriving at Batur Hamlet. From here the journey goes through the residential village until it reaches the parking area of the Banyunibo Waterfall.

Along the way from the parking area to the waterfall, they will be treated to beautiful views of rice terraces from local residents. Arriving at the location, the the waterfall flows not too big and heavy, but forms a beautiful flows.

Just like most waterfalls, the waterfalls will flow more profusely during rainy season. During dry season, the Banyunibo Waterfall flows does not dry out, but the water flow drops dramatically, so most visitors prefer to visit this waterfall during the rainy season.
