Bantul is the one of the regencies of DIY that has an incredible charm of the nature. Various kinds of tourism destinations offered are such as nature tourism, educational tourism, culinary tourism, and so on. One of the nature tourism destinations which are not as popular as other nature tourism destinations in Bantul is Pulosari ravine. You might rarely hear or even never hear about the name of this tourism destination. Pulosari ravine is located in Sendangsari, Krebet, Pajangan, Bantul.
Location Access
If you are from the city center of Yogyakarta, it won’t be far to reach the location of this tourist object. You need only to take about 45 minutes. You just have to go towards Bantul Sreet and pass Ring Road Selatan and get the gate of Ceramics Tourism Village of Kasongan. From this place, you have to follow the route until you find the sign board direction of Krebet Tourism village. Before reaching its location, we will pass the teak tree forest. If you find already a big statue of Bagong, it means that you are entering the area of Krebet Village. From this area, you can see the sign direction that will lead you to get the location. Don’t be afraid to ask the local people around if you need to have additional information.
The unique scenery of the waterfall
Once you hear about the name of Pulosari ravine, you might think that it would be a kind of deep mountain ravine that might be could put you in danger. Be calm because Pulosari ravine is not as dangerous as your imagination. Pulosari ravine tourist destination is actually a beautiful waterfall located in the bottom of the ravine.
The waterfall in Pulosari ravine is different with other common waterfall because the fall stream is looks like a white beautiful curtain. The water that falls down into the pond would be the nice place for those who want to play in the water or even swimming. Pulosari ravine waterfall is about 5 meters height where the depth is about 3 meters. You shouldn’t be worry because there is also a shallow part of the pond so for those who can’t swim; they would be safe to enjoy the water in this area.
The best time to come here is in rainy season because the water fall will have a big stream. The natural atmosphere and the location that’s far from the city crowd are such a nice to have a relaxation and to release all the tiredness of work business. On dry season, you can also come here, but there will be only a little amount of the water on the pond and the curtain waterfall look that becomes the icon of this waterfall can’t be seen.
There are 2 ways to reach the location of this waterfall which are from the main gate and from the south gate. If you chose to get the location from the south gate, you can bring your own vehicle to the waterfall location. In other hand, if you come from the main gate you can’t bring your vehicle to waterfall location, and you need to walk about 10 minutes from the parking area to reach the location because of the narrow route access. Even so you will get beautiful nature scenery along the way. You will also go down the greenish teak tree forest and cross the small river that could make you feeling fun for sure. You need to keep concentrate and keep careful because of the rocky and winding route condition that might be also slippery.
Activity and Facility
Other than offering the view of the unique waterfall, here you can do also other challenging physical activities like rock climbing and rappelling. Those activities can be done in the west side of waterfall area precisely on the hilly area. In addition, Pulosari ravine could become a good place also to have pre wedding photo shoot with a beautiful waterfall background or the view of the greenish teak tree forest.
The facilities provided in Pulosari ravine are quite complete where there are toilets, parking area, food court area, and tire rental. Actually there are not yet many food stalls in this are so you are suggested to bring own meals supplies and then you can enjoy them in the gazebo provided. To enter the area of Pulosari ravine, you need to pay only parking retribution of Rp. 2000,-. There are not yet homestays in Pulosari ravine area, so if you want to stay overnight, Krebet tourism village could offer you homestay.
